#itsalifestyle was born out of my friends and colleagues skepticism of my ‘drastic’ shift. Since then, it’s become affectionately linked to my coaching framework, geared at demonstrating how we can eat, move and live in such a way that we ooze happiness, health and fulfillment.

I am a trained motivational speaker and facilitator from my tenure at We Charities.

Absolutely, the program is specifically designed with you in mind. Not only can the program be facilitated remotely via online tools, but the content is specifically crafted to help you find balance where ever you are, now.

Here at #itsalifestyle we focus on a holistic plan, meaning instead of a sole focus (ie. nutrition, fitness, life/career coaching) our framework is rooted in three principles: nutrition, movement and intentional living.

Secondly, our program is designed to meet you where you are, right now. Meaning, you will walk away from your program having designed a lifestyle that suits your current life stage; whether that is a busy globetrotting professional, a multi-tasking parent of little humans, or a middle aged trendsetter.

But at the end of the day, you are investing in a health and wellness plan that will work for you, so if you find yourself asking which coach is right for you, the short answer is… it has to feel right. Success looks different for every client, so I can better share how we measure success here at #itsalifestyle.

We start each program with a lifestyle mapping activity, this will inform the process made throughout the remainder of the session. For some, 6 weeks is the perfect time to establish habits and behaviours within in their new lifestyle framework, for others we may need more time. Your journey is uniquely yours, and I look forward to establishing success in whatever form that takes for you.

First, let’s start with a conversation about what your goals are when it comes to lifestyle design. Is life happening to you, or are you living life? What is missing in your life? How do you want to feel? What do you want to look like? Who do you want supporting you? What do you want to incorporate? Why are you motivated by these things?

Secondly, what you have tried before and what we can learn from those experiences?

Next, let’s map out achievable goals and create a lifestyle that is dynamic and adaptable keeping your core values protected, to allow for long term sustainability.

You are never too old to be your healthiest, most fulfilled self. Our goals may change, our body may shift but wellness is all about adapting to where you are now and where you want to be next.

Long answer, maybe.

Your nutritional needs are completely unique, there are certainly some preventive health care benefits to a plant based diet, but it is important to fully assess your personal needs before making any rash decisions or eliminating any macro nutrients.

I work with clients who adhere to a host of dietary preferences and requirements, so get in touch!

YASSSS! Counting calories can be the quickest way to develop disordered eating patterns. #itsalifestyle is all about adapting to a whole foods, nutrient dense diet, and sufficient movement regime that will better inform what you eat, how much you eat and where & when you eat it!

I will never ask you to count your calories, instead count your nutritional building blocks- macros & micros!

First, lets dig into your motivations for weight loss. Is this question fuelled by health indicators? Body composition?  Realistic expectations?

Second, we will take a look at your relationship with food and see if we can establish some next steps.

Third, #itsalifestyle is all about the holistic approach so together we will apply the three founding principles of nutrition, movement and intentional living to map a lifestyle design suited to your weight loss and maintenance goals.

Food journalling is a really awesome tool to facilitate a communicative relationship with your body. Logging what you eat, how it makes you feel and any ancillary factors can help you narrow down the key offenders- whether it be certain foods, stress, sleep patterns, or other factors all together.

By working the framework, we can easily integrate digestive health within your nutrition pillar and equip you with the tools and resource to improve your relationship with your gut. Let’s get started (contact list).

In short,

naturally occurring sugars = a safe bet

factory produced sugars = no good

That to say, #itsalifestyle is anti-deprivation, and pro-adaptation. As soon as you feel deprived, we lose all hope of sustainability. We will work together to find ways to hack your favourite recipes, establish balance in your daily meal plans and treat yourself in a healthy way.

In short, no.

Long answer, maybe.

Dairy is one of the top food offenders when it comes to digestive health, if this is an area of concern for you we will work together to narrow down what is causing you trouble. If it is dairy, don’t fret there is a whole host of alternatives on the market now that are just as delicious.

That to say, dairy can be influenced by a whole host of hormones and chemicals depending on what form and what source it takes/comes from. Additionally, it is worth mentioning the environmental factors and farming practices related to dairy production. Knowing where your food comes from is an integral part of the #itsalifestyle philosophy and once you have the facts you can make an informed, personal decision.

I will never make you give up anything, #itsalifestyle is anti-deprivation, after all. But if you are interested in assessing how your body is responding to certain foods and ingredients, our program is designed to support you in that journey.

In short, not always.

Gluten free is now ‘health washed’ on our regular products as a buzzword for “healthy”. Unfortunately, gluten free packed products are often stocked full of unhealthy fats and refined sugars making them WORSE for you than gluten filled products/food choices.

Gluten should be avoided if you have a Celiac diagnosis, and for those with a gluten intolerance. Otherwise, an investment in whole foods, less processed/refined grains and naturally occurring gluten free foods (think fruits & veggies) can make your gut very happy.

First, let’s talk about when you experience and the circumstances surrounding it. The root cause of bloating can be varied and vast. Second, let’s talk about some natural, healthy digestion aids that can support such as fermented foods, probiotics, and apple cider vinegar.

Bloating can be so uncomfortable and often has an easy fix, whether it’s through the avoidance of key offenders or the addition of some gut supporting aids.
